Team Player Highlight: Zhenis Schultz

ree

At the Tennessee Freedom Institute, we believe that great policy work is powered not only by passion and purpose—but by people. One of those people is Zhenis, a standout research analyst whose dedication and discipline have made a lasting impact on our mission.

From day one, Zhenis brought a rare combination of curiosity, tenacity, and a deep respect for the legislative process. Tasked with conducting legislative research across a wide range of policy areas, Zhenis didn’t just meet expectations—he exceeded them, completing in-depth research on more than 13 distinct topics during his time with us.

Whether it was constitutional law, healthcare data, or fiscal impact, Zhenis approached every assignment with analytical rigor and a sharp eye for detail. His work not only informed policy recommendations but also helped frame key arguments used in public testimony, op-eds, and legislative briefings.

What truly set Zhenis apart was his collaborative spirit. He wasn’t just a researcher working behind the scenes—he was a true team player. Always ready to jump into brainstorming sessions, offer data to back up strategic decisions, or support a colleague on a tight deadline, Zhenis exemplified what it means to serve a cause greater than oneself.

His ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights played a crucial role in shaping several of our advocacy efforts. It’s no exaggeration to say that Zhenis’s work helped drive real conversations at the Capitol.

As we reflect on the progress we've made this past year, we’re proud to recognize the talent and dedication of individuals like Zhenis. His contribution to the Tennessee Freedom Institute is not just measured in research documents and reports—but in the trust and respect he earned from his peers and the momentum he helped build for freedom-focused policy across the state.

Thank you, Zhenis, for being the kind of researcher every think tank hopes to have—and every legislator needs behind the scenes.
